The color and title of this piece are inspired by my mom, whose love for lemons is off the charts, for some odd reason... Her collection of lemon-themed treasures inspired me to capture a bit of her zest for life in this drawing.
I filmed the process of this piece, which I don't do for all of them... With that I had to completely surrender to the moment. Figures, plants, sour-tasting icicles emerged, all sharing some kind of equilibrium together.
The colors in these pieces vibrate in unique ways, and here the pink becomes an unexpected pop of color. I'm picking up a few waves that I haven't sensed before...
