From sunny skies, the tide turned into a heavy storm. Slowly and then all at once everything turned gray.
When the eye passed over, the light cut through the vapors and all the chatter faded away into the background. Everything quiet.
I was thinking about how just a week spent creating with other artists can bring a totally renewed sense of peace, and infinite possibility to the slow making practice.
A rare occurrence - comparing this to the normal buzz of daily life in the big city. It made me feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the collective consciousness of art. All together we moved forward - grateful for these opportunities that exist for people of different backgrounds to connect, share and build and together.
This artwork was made in Playa Blanca, Mexico after the Rio Art Residency.
