This piece was made during a mini artist residency in Northern California.
My biggest breakthroughs often come by looking closely at new environments. I spend time immersed in the landscape and then find ways to incorporate it into my compositions.
This piece, among others, led on to inspire my “Rides” series. I always look back at my experiments and enjoy seeing how the visual elements and styles developed. I can see where the ride was taking me, but the future is unknown.
